Hydrosols are also referred to as Distillate Waters, Distillates or Floral Waters, and are the by-product of distillation in the manufacture of essential oils.  Valuable plant compounds left behind in the distillation process are available in the distillate waters.  They are often used in the production of natural perfumes and high quality Aromatherapy products for natural skin care.  Because they are highly dilute, hydrosols are often useful when preparing aromatherapy products for sensitive individuals such as infants, the elderly and those with respiratory compromise.
