Plant description

Botanical family: Myrtaceae (Myrtle)

Cajeput is an evergreen tree in the same family as Tea Tree. It is an evergreen native to Asia and typically grows to a height of 100 feet. Its green leaves have oil glands on them, making the cajeput forests very fragrant.

Growing Practices

Plants indigenous to the region are harvested from the wild, away from pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Replanting is done yearly to ensure the availability of the species

Cajeput is in the same family as Tea Tree, and the essential oil has properties similar to Tea Tree oil.

Uses / Benefits

Improves respiratory effort, helps to calm coughs, helps relax tight muscles relieve pain from arthritis, lumbago, muscle stiffness, sports injuries, neuralgia, gout, sciatica. Helps relieve itching due to insect bites, psoriasis and eczema. Recommended and for the management of oily skin.

Modes of Administration

Topical: massage, compress, bath, skin care, ointment.

Inhalation: direct inhalation, diffuser, oil vaporizer.

Fragrant influences

Helps alleviate fatigue and restlessness.

Basil, Cinnamon, Clove, Coriander, Cumin, Cypress, Eucalyptus, Fennel, Hyssop, Lavender, Lemon, Marjoram, Oregano, Pine, Rosemary, Sage, Spearmint, Spruce, Thyme

Safety

Non-toxic, non-sensitizing. May irritate sensitive skin - always dilute well and do not use on mucus membranes.

Precautions
