Botanical family: Rutaceae (Citrus)
Amyris is an evergreen tree that grows to a height of about 60 feet It produces clusters of white flowers that develop into an edible bluish-black fruit. Amyris is sometimes referred to as "West Indian Sandalwood", although it is not in the same botanical family as true Sandalwood.
