The coconut tree is a tall tropical palm which can grow to a height of 100 feet. It produces large pinnate leaves atop a ragged brown trunk. Characteristics :  Pure unrefined coconut oil is semi-solid at room temperature, but melts quickly on the skin and is readily absorbed. It is white, with a mild distinctively coconut scent and taste.

Properties :  Anti-bacterial, emollient, rejuvenative

Uses :  Although coconut oil has primarily been used in food production in the past, it is gaining popularity as an ingredient in natural skin care. The oil lends itself well to making home made skin care products. It is a great moisturizer for dry and mature skin, and a quick fix for chapped lips. Helpful in the treatment of eczema and psoriasis. Coconut oil is a gentle and effective natural make-up remover.

Storage :  Store in a cool, dry place away from direct light. Refrigeration prolongs the freshness of all natural oils.
