Plant description

Botanical family: Betulaceae

Sweet birch is native to North America. The tree grows to a height of about 50-80 feet. The bark is black and the leaves smell of wintergreen or root beer. The Sweet birch tree is also known as Black birch, Cherry birch, Mahogany Birch and Spice birch.

Growing Practices

Plants indigenous to the region are harvested from the wild, away from pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Replanting is done yearly to ensure availability of the species.
